To help ND Journeymen complete their Continuing Education hours required to renew their ND, SD and MN licenses, Magnum Electric employees can register to take “Continued Ed” classes at the PowerHouse for FREE.

Classes cover the article changes in 2023 with virtual attendance available for those outside West Fargo, ND. Register for upcoming dates below in the form.

Courses

2023 NEC Table Applications

This 4 hour course explores different table applications throughout the 2023 NEC. Topics include pipe fill, conductor ampacity, pull box sizing, and more! The goal with this course is to help get a refresher on how to use the tables in the code book, as well as provide context as to why we are required to use them.

Electrical Systems: Chapter 7 & 8

In this course, we will go over the various different electrical systems found in chapter 7 of the 2023 NEC. Topics include power limited circuits, standby systems, fire alarm, load management systems, and more. The goal with this course is to gain a broader understanding of Chapter 7, an often overlooked Chapter in the Code book.

State Licensing Requirements

North Dakota:
  • Journeyman/Master – 8 hours each year
  • Apprentice – None
Minnesota:
  • Journeyman/Master – 16 hours each license cycle (within two years)
  • Apprentice – 2 hours each year
South Dakota:
  • Journeyman/Master – 16 hours each license cycle (within two years)
  • Apprentice – None

Magnum Electric is an accredited sponsor of Electrician Continuing Education in the states of North Dakota, Minnesota and South Dakota.

Christian Opp is an accredited instructor of Electrician Continuing Education classes in North Dakota, Minnesota, and South Dakota. He is also a certified Distance Education Instructor through IDECC (International Distance Education Certification Center).
